Earlier this month, Great Lakes Case & Cabinet attended the 2018 NY Tech Summit in Verona, New York. We had the chance to exhibit our brand-new SEAL line of enclosures and mix and mingle with some of the greatest minds in tech. As a company, we’re committed to advancing our products as well as our employees, challenging them to be the best they can be. Here are just a few trends and observations we took note of while at the 2018 NY Tech Summit:

PCI DSS
Over the last 30+ years that Great Lakes Case & Cabinet has been in business, we’ve worked with customers in industries from medical to financial to government and everything in between. The main connection between all of these customers is their desire to stay compliant, whether that’s to HIPAA laws, government compliance, etc. This year at the Summit, we heard a lot of buzz about a different set of standards: Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. PCI DSS is a security standard that applies to organizations that handle digital payments, such as credit cards and debit cards – a standard that GLCC is committed to helping our clients meet moving forward.

Cybersecurity GLCC NY Tech3
There has been a lot of buzz around cybersecurity over the last decade or so – and it was no different at the Summit this year. While there’s no denying that cybersecurity is a critical issue, it’s important not to let physical security fall to the wayside. In fact, insider threat alone is a huge concern – 74% of companies feel that they are vulnerable to insider threats according to the 2017 Insider Threat Report by ipswitch. Physical security is not to be ignored – which is why we’re committed to helping our clients tackle it head-on with solutions like our nearly impenetrable, entirely customizable SEAL line of enclosures displayed at the Summit.

Integrations
A question posed many times at the Summit was if we could integrate SEAL and other Great Lakes Case & Cabinet products into existing systems – and the answer is a resounding yes! Whether you have an existing enclosure and you’d like to add a SEAL handle (for everything you need to know about handles and access, click here) or you’d like to move your entire system to Great Lakes products, our Sales team will work with you to find a customized solution to meet your needs, whatever they may be.
