With two families of E-Line handles (E-Line Basic and E-Line Direct), Dirak offers the user security and flexibility in electronic access control door handles. Whether you are integrating enclosure access controls to your Building Management System (B.M.S.) or you are looking for a software package to manage enclosure access, E-Line has a solution to fit your needs.
Before selecting your Dirak E-Line handle, there are several things to consider:
- Are you using a current HID card? Will you be using it with the enclosure? If so, what type?
- Will you be using your own reader and/or management software (B.M.I, Netbotz, Cisco,etc)
- Will you be securing both the front and rear doors with HID?
- Are you deploying a large quantity of enclosures or enclosures across multiple sites?
The E-Line Basic family consists of the Basic Handle and the Basic Plus Handle, which easily integrate with third party access control systems and building management systems (B.M.S.)!
The Basic Handle is a standard access handle which is integrated into the B.M.S. where the card reader or biometric access panel etc. is a third party system. All authentication and system controls are made by the B.M.S.; if access is granted to the user, then the B.M.S. sends a signal to the E-Line Basic Box which unlocks the door handle. This solution allows the enclosure access and authentication to be controlled by the same system which manages building access controls (or the preferred access control may also be something other than HID card—biometric, keypad etc.). The Basic Plus Handle offers the same flexibility with B.M.S. and access controls, but contains additional features. Basic Plus can communicate the status of the door handle (locked or unlocked) and also features a contact for a 9 volt override to provide power to the handle in the event of power failure.

The E-Line Direct family consists of the Direct Pro Handle and Direct 485 Handle (both are HID). Both Direct handles feature card readers integrated into the handle, are IP addressable, and are controlled by E-Line exclusive Pro management software. In addition, both offer contacts on the front of the handle for a 9 volt override in the event of power failure (both handles record up to 250 event data logs which is sent to the E-Line software once the power or network connection is restored).The Direct Handle is recommended for single or a small number of enclosures. For larger scale deployments (datacenters, multisite deployments etc.) the Direct 485 Handle is recommended. Both offer a simplified infrastructure for deployment and management.
